3 Best Summer Dress Alternatives

When we speak of summer dress, we automatically think of bright flowery dresses. However, if you’re a kind who craves for style with an edge, you might want to consider these summer dress alternatives that I suggest: Cutting edge patterned summer dress, sailor stripes dress or revised versions of plain old polka dots.

Muriel Stripe Dress
The prints of this jersey dress in themselves speak summer! The side ties at the bodice overlay are very girlish, the skirt is draped (what do we say about drapes?); while the two patched pockets create any day any time coolness. Worn with wrap around sandals, you have a perfect summer dress alternative.

Diamond Zigzag Dress
If you don’t want to settle for less on a summer, I suggest you go for another jersey in a form of a zigzag dress. Have you seen such a pattern somewhere? It has a pleating at the scoop neck and a V back. Is it a touch of vintage? Gathered elastic banding at waist, the skirt goes draped at the hips and then finishes the ends kind’a pencil cut. Something we don’t at its back is a double-button closure and cutout. Worn with some heels or wedges, you get a very elegant summer dress alternative.

Damisi Lawn Dress
Another alternative comes in cotton. If you want to bring back some memories of your childhood days, the ruching at the bust, back, shoulders, and cuffs of this dress is the answer. Its pattern is less cutting edge, but the color combination and lines are very summer. You better pull those Maison Margiela shoes from the back of your closet and you’re done.

Aqua Striped Dress
Would you like a dress that changes its allure from day time to night? The matter is just between a pair of white flip flops and glossy sky-high heels. The rest is yours to decide.

Valerie Dress
Another stripe comes in cotton. A very huge tee done up with a wide neck and opened via buttons down the back and blue and white stripes, comes a stylish summer dress alternative.

Viviene Westwood Anglomania
How sad it was when I found out that this navy and white striped jersey dress is out of stock. Artfully draped and with signature asymmetric detailing, what great statement does it create? If you ask what’s the best way to wear it? Bare legs and neutral heels are best for this fitted style. If you would like to go more daring, perhaps with this mini for many stripe wedge?

polka dots

They say that the old good polka dots are fun, but the new versions are much more fun!

Leather cutout platform boots

Formal white long sleeves, black and white tiny polka dots paired with this so called fashion-forward footwear from Versace can be a very daring outfit for work. I guess this is perfect for someone whose job is fashion reporting. ;)

Take any sexy mini dress with just little touch of polka dots. Or if you nothing like that is available just take any mini dress, this Versace has a power to transform any of your choice into another summer dress alternative.

Two polkas in one
Did you know that you can actually wear different versions of polka dots for your top and your skirt at once? Take for instance this Lula Dot Print Blouse paired with Annie Mae Dot Sweater Skirt. You won’t go wrong for this alternative obviously.

Do tell me which of these alternatives earned your nod, girls.
