So you’ve no horse? But who said you can’t be cowboy?

I’m not certain if my love for cowboy outfits could be attributed to my childhood experiences. We used to have horses as the best means of transportation when i was very young. I remembered feeling like flying when the horse crosses some cliffs through a swift and powerful leap. The best ride I could remember was when I was five and was with friends going home after church. I felt too small against the horse yet too carefree to mind the heights; after all, I was giggling along with friends. The cowboy rider was our hero.

I really love horses and I dream that at least before I retire, I can get a horse as beautiful as this.

Thus my love for cowboy gears. I’ve got no horse. but that does not matter. I can collect cowboy hats instead. And cowboy boots too. Or just anything that’s cowboy.

Do you see what a beutiful cowboy hat I got for myself here?

Do you really think the giraffe was actually eating my backpocket? lol, no. It was just asking for more bananas. But i needed to take our photo together first before i could feed it for more.

I went tired feeding the girrafes and walking, laughing and roaming arond the Safari World that I needed to have a rest and share the seat of these glamorous statutes. They were really lovely.

So one day I went shopping for cowboy hats. Guess what? I had to travel four hours from the city just to get cheaper leather hats. But anyway, it was worth the travel since I also enjoyed visiting around.

I hope I don’t look stupid here but this is just the silly side of me. lol.

I did not notice the guy behind me was handsome [ssshhh, don’t tell my honey, lol] I was too preoccupied seeing the scenery while having the cruise. Also, I was too excited to get to the next stop and see the extremely huge sculpted penis lying inside the temple [so I was told].

But instead, I found myself climbing this Everest temple of Wat Arun. Whew! By the way, while going down the stairs, a French guy was taking photos of me. I bet he was up to write his next article “The Fashionable Climb”.

All these activities did not happen all in a single day, mind you. That would be too exhausting. But their common denominator, I was with a cowboy hat.

What about you? What are your cowboy collections?

Ruche Test Kitchen: Blueberry Boy Bait

Thanks to Smitten Kitchen for the delish recipe and Klassy C for the introduction! Our Saturday afternoon was reserved to make Blueberry Boy Baits! I must say that if Josh and I weren't already married, these would definitely reel him in (he agrees) haha. One of our fav things to do is cook together. Because of how hectic life and work can get, we don't get to cook and bake often anymore. This weekend was an exception, especially since we couldn't help it after reading all your dress names with the word "blueberry" in them. Klassy C, we are giving you a $15 Ruche Gift Certificate! =)

Better yet, I actually have a dinner party to go to so this would be the perfect dessert to bring!

Next time in the Ruche Test Kitchen: Peach Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting.

My stylish but cheap top wear

One thing that I love about Thailand is the availability of stylish but cheap products. There are seas of grade A imitations that are so polished you can't tell which is the original and which is the imitation by a mere glance. You will only know however, if you get to touch or wear it. Of course, nothing beats the original designers' products when it comes to comfort and quality. Needless to say, it goes with price.

I got this black Thai style spaghetti straps top from one of the night markets here in Bangkok. It cost me only 70baht. That's only $2.06. And yet, it's very sophisticated.

This type of cloth however needs to be handwashed and be separated from the rest of your laundry because the color has a tendency to fade and can ruin your other clothes. Fading of color is not always true to all low price products but it's always good to take heed.

"Name This Dress" Contest Winner

Thank you so much everyone for playing! I had so much fun and I hope you did too. After going through 580 comments, roughly 1500 dress names....I've finally chosen a winner. It was VERY VERY difficult, I spent almost 3 hours reading all the names. There were so many good ones, some that made me laugh ("The Mamasita Smurf Dress" & "I'm on a boat dress" - you have to have seen the SNL episode to understand that one) LOL, some made me want to go back on vacation, and some made me crave for blueberry pie (I NEED BLUEBERRY PIE!). BTW You ladies have to check out "The Blueberry Boy Bait" recipe (Thanks Klassy C for the delish recipe). After watching Julie and Julia, I think I'm going to have to make this recipe this weekend! I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyway, after much thought, the winning name for the dress is....."Sail Me To the Moon Dress" by Ali!

The reasons why I chose this name are because:
1. I LOVE Frank Sinatra
2. This dress reminds me of a waltz and anything ocean related (waves, sailing, etc)
3. The name subtly ties together all these things

So CONGRATS TO ALI!!!!

Thanks all! Stay tuned for the next "Name This" Contest!

Ruche Fall Lookbook Teaser

Here is a lil teaser from my favorite photographer!

My fashion on a rare Night Out

I think ‘twas my relief typical for a TGIS [thank God it’s Saturday] that gave me the idea to use my own photos again for tonight’s post. Why not? Been a while, eh. It’s sad though that the resolution of these photos is not so good. On the other hand, it’s unlikely to get syndicated, lol.

So today, I’m giving you a peek into some of my rare nights out. Here, with friends.

DSCN5654
It's Daisy, Joy and me. We call ourselves "Charlie's Angels". Can you guess whose taking which character? Obviously, I'm Lucy Lo.

Here with Bernard. We did not plan it, but our style for the night just turned out matching.

DSCF1017

I love cropping my photos. I'm trying the crop to make some glamour effects. lol.

DSCF1028 It's skyway fashion.

DSCF1039
The dress looked good with this velvet jacket too.

I was trying a catwalk but my friends just couldn't get a good shot. Says all about amateur photography. :)

We were looking for an exit; but because of too much posing, we were heading to the fire exit. Oh, man.

DSCF0991
They're my team. The guy behind me? That's Ringo. We call him Charlie. It's not clear in this photo but I love that white coat he's wearing.

Well, guess that's all for today. Have a great weekend folks.
