Who hates J.Lo? Will love Sweetface and Justsweet

Jennifer Lopez is actually my No. 1 favorite hollywood star. I'm not certain what is that in her that magnetizes me; perhaps her eyes that are very emotive, her figure that is very appealing, her new definition of "sexiness" as not being thin, her dance moves, her voice, or her climb to stardom. Whatever it is, I just love her a lot. Unfortunately, I met a lot of friends and I heard quite some people telling me on my face that they don't like her because she's a nag, an ill-mannered "who-the-hell-she-thinks-she-is". But whatever they tell me, it doesn't change my admiration of her.

I do know that there are issues coming about her behavior such as the story I read from a magazine where a club GRO whom George Clooney had a date revealed that George has expressed to her how he hated J.Lo and that how bad he felt that he had to kiss her for the sake of their movie, but those actually, were not confirmed and were not reliable.

But instead of people talking about whether she is a nag or not, people are now talking about her new clothing lines, first which is the Sweet face and the recent is the Justsweet.

justsweet

This black turtle-neck dress worn with a black hose and black boots has totally smitten me.

jlopez

J.Lo also proves that she can wear her own designs. Thus, she gives a comparison of how a model and how the designer wears it.

jlopez4

It seems she also campaigns for reusing. Notice her jeans and boots [i love them both they're perfect together].

jlopez3

I think this dress looks better when the shoulders are left exposed.

jlopez2

Notice how the hat gave a different look for the same white dress.

jennifer-lopez-sayonara-sweetface-03

The design of this pink dress is actually not new, I've seen a lot of similar cross back exposed dresses, but still it looks sweet and sophisticated on her.

jennifer-lopez-christos

Is this dress actually a maternity or a wedding dress? Could you please help me decide.

sweetface

And oh, they're just so sweet.

Ruche Moves into Dream Office

Sorry I have been MIA lately..but I have a good reason! We just moved into our dream office located in downtown Fullerton, CA. This building was built around 1894 and is one of the oldest buildings on the block. Brick walls, high rafter ceilings, old vintage windows...oh my! The tall windows face a major street so we can hear the hustle bustle of the city. Finding a place like this in Orange County isn't easy..you've all seen the OC right?

The next part is furnishing and decorating..my favorite part! Looks like I'll be hitting every antique fair in town. My first find was this gorgeous table made from an old door. You like? =D (How about that lovely purse sitting on it? hehe )

The view from up yonder.

If you happen to live in Southern California, feel free to contact us and you can drop by to try on all the new goodies! It isn't actually a retail store since we are still only based online, but you're welcome to come by and shop at the warehouse. Now that we're done moving, hopefully we will get a chance to post up some new arrivals this week!

Gap ensemble

What a Sunday morning. I woke up with a desire to meet the scheduled tasks that are a must. Tomorrow's school again and all midterm test papers should all be checked and ready for the students. You know how it is to meet the anxious faces of students eager to see their scores. And yet, here I am, hooked in my computer, so excited with my discovery of Polyvore. Who am I kidding? I might be the last blogger to discover this. Geez, am i that obsolete? But anyway, what I love about polyvore is the chance that i can use my passion in creating outfit combinations. And for my first set of creation, I've got this GAP ensemble. Everything in this combi is gap other than the scarf.

You can visit my Polyvore closet to see the prices of stuff that make this combination. Enjoy ;)

Sneakers: for anyday, for anybody

creativefashion

The good thing about living in Asia is that, whenever you would want to go out for a stroll on a Sunday afternoon, you can always expect that it is a sunny hopeful day.

If you are to meet up with me to hang out for a chat or for a stroll on any lazy day, expect me to show up with some sneakers and shorts. This outfit is something that I believe I will never get over with. Why, it's very comfortable and functional. It makes me feel that I am still young. I don't know why, but sneakers have just got a venom that is powerful to make anybody feel young and fresh in it.

creativefashion

Of course, sneakers are just not for some-body, it is for anybody. Here are some celebrities spotted sneaken'.

And for a treat, here are some hilarious photos of females wearing sneakers.

Sea of shoes: a celebrity in the making? And what do you think of her blog?

sea of shoes

Who doesn’t know this girl? Jane Aldridge, 17 years old, the personal-style blogger of Sea of shoes. Her blog is said to have won a Web fashion award and has been featured at teenVogue. The blog is reporting a PR of 6.

I came across Jane’s blog about six months ago when the idea of putting up my own fashion blog transpired. I was completely overwhelmed by all her fashion and glamour and I felt inferior. Why, with all the expensive and branded stuff she was wearing, and with all the shoes, oh so lovely shoes that I covet to wear, wouldn’t I be inferior? Devouring her blog brought me to a world that I would so love to be in yet I wouldn’t dare to be. I work hard for my money; I can’t just waste them all for fashion.

I read an article last night featuring her and her boyfriend. The photo of Jane with her boyfriend together was for the first time seen in her blog after so many inquiries about her relationship came from fans. However, the number of comments below the article was what had caught my attention. Reading the total of 37 comments, I realized that about 85-90% commented against her blog if not her style. Her blog is accused of excessive display of wealth and too much flaunting of what she has. The terms eclectic [can we define it as no originality?] and narcissistic were used. Jane’s mother was also questioned for financing her daughter’s spree fashion. One commenter even questioned what type of people would always brag about their purchases? And that if we can tolerate a seventeen-year-old, what about the mother who also flaunts about what she has in her own blog? [I’m still searching for the mom’s blog, btw]. Some commenter claimed that even though they enjoyed her blog because it inspires them to dream, they feel uncomfortable with too much wealth displayed. They think that she lives an unrealistic life, spending for her clothes for nothing, and shopping everyday with an endless bank account.

sea of shoes

Now, here is what I think. First, I don’t have anything about her style. Even if she wears an ugly baggy yellow pants, if she looks good in it, that is what I call fashion. It’s a skill that not everyone is blessed. Second, if she does display an excessive amount of wealth, it is her right. She does not violate any law. Also, if a lot of people enjoy having a glimpse of her closet, why stop them? Let them enjoy. Third, if she came to the point of choosing home schooling as an alternative for normal school just so she can have her own time and manage blogging, I don’t think that is for nothing. Did you know that one of the best advices for aspiring designers or models is to start their own fashion blog? And don’t you think she is just getting such popularity and is a celebrity in the making?

People at some point in their lives are not contented with what they have. They tend to indulge themselves with everything and anything that they have passion about. This includes fashion. And actually, more people are victims of this. They are the uncontrolled shopaholics [myself used to be, I'm a shopaholic no more]. Fact is, it is a need that has to be satisfied. Once met, some people just casually step out of it. Other people however need some professional help to aid them to overcome this indulgence [as with Rebecca Bloomwood in the Confessions of a Shopaholic]. But for those who never overcame this crisis, they find themselves financially ruined at their later years.

As for the sea of shoes, she might encourage her fans, especially the young ones to spend their money and try to dress the way she does. Through her blog, she shows her readers a world that might not exist in the first place, or a world that is beyond reach. If the reader is a self-actualized person, she is not affected. She can take a step back and see that the real world is completely different. But those who are still in the process of self-actualizing, they are in danger.

To sum it all, Jane does have a great blog, she is stylish, and she is blessed with wealth. It is the responsibility of the readers to see what is real and what is not, what is within reach and what is not, and what is worthy of their money.

Cindy Crawford: her beauty, her fashion

If there's any top supermodel that I adore so much, that's Cindy Crawford. Her beauty is a signature [thanks to her trademark mole]; is striking and timeless. Whenever I come across any article about her, be it from the web or from magazines, I hunger to devour. It didn't help when I learned that she does not only got the beauty, she also got the brain [Read a little background about her here and learn what she was in her university days].

When I opened my computer this morning I was greeted by the featured photos of her wearing this black combi below. She completely stole my heart. She inspired me to come up with this post.

Cindy sported a black mini dress along with black gladiator shoes when she attended the Omega 2009 Constellation Collection at Almada on October 15, 2009 in London, England.

It's not only what you wear, it's where you go

In as much as getting fabulous is important, choosing where to go to hang out is also necessary. You have to make sure that every dime you spend is reciprocated by the ambiance, service, food, and overall elegance.

creativefashion

I and my girl friends visited Bai Yun, the Best Chinese restaurant in the country.

panoramic view
Photo taken from their website

Dining at the Moon Bar, an open roof top on the 60th floor of the tower, allowed us to behold the panoramic view of the city.

creativefashion (This is the far end area in the photo above. People prefer to sit here more.)

The view was too fascinating that I, Daisy and Joy felt the chill not until dawn. We enjoyed every moment we had while consuming our fancy meal and washing them down with some restaurant's signature drinks.

creativefashion

We started the night with some juice and finger pick foods.

creativefashion

For the hard meal, we helped ourselves with these delicious courses that even with their presentation alone were so inviting. From the left per serving: kobe beef (5000baht or $150), fish caviar (1500baht or $50), giant scallop (400baht or $12) and foi gra (900baht or $27). Among the four courses we found Kobe beef the best.

creativefashion
We had this drink, Vertigo Sunset; the bar's signature drink to complete our meal.

creativefashion

We were waiting for the dessert in this photo, and when they finally came, they were a surprise.

creativefashion

From the left: brownies and cheesecake, black forest cake in glass, and Tiramisu (a world renowed dessert that sounds like from Japan but has actually originated from Italy).

The restaurant demands that guests should come in a smart casual wear. No torn jeans, sleeveless tops, shorts or flip flops.
Thus we went in proper outfits.

And we were fortunate to meet the head of chefs who personally prepared our meal, Lak.

We had so much fun. The place we went was worth all our dime.
