Should Jimmy Choo Collection be made available to the public?

“Wait! I lost my Choo!” she cries out as the boat pulls away from the pier. ~ Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City

"If someone is going to pay a good 350 British pounds for a pair of Jimmy Choo, that very one would want this brand rare and not available to a vast public." A number of people chorussed this line as they made comments about Jimmy Choo in a forum specifically about Tamara Mellons announcement of the plan to launch more Jimmy Choo boutiques around the world.

We know that the original Jimmy Choo sticks to the idea of creating couture shoes while Tamarra Mellon and Sandra Choi [Jimmy Choo's niece by affinity] prefer more the idea of creating top end ready-to-wear line. Thereby started the clash. For details, read here and here.

I spent around three hours reading and learning more about the story behind the Jimmy Choo; the backgrounds, the well-publicized fairytale weddings and one that eventually ended up to separation, the feuds between Jimmy and the queen of the empire Tamarra, the split of business partners, and so much more. I was left feeling sad for the original shoe craftman Jimmy Choo who seemed to be downplayed. Can you imagine having your very name famous around the globe but not having a claim on it? Must it be because Tamarra has got the power, connection and money? I just wonder, why didn't she build up the line "Tamarra Mellons" instead of taking over the Jimmy Choo? But please, don't get me wrong, was just a thought. I know there are more than just starting from scratch, ouch.

On the other note, I must be one of those who would vote for the availability of more affortable ready-to-wear Jimmy Choo shoes. [You know, i just love shoes more than anything else].

Vote for your side: Should Jimmy Choo be available for the public in more affortable price? Or should Jimmy Choo protect its exclusivity by making it rare to the public?

Smart Tips on Shopping for a Block Friday or Cyber Monday

The cyber world is so packed up with all the Block Friday and Cyber Monday adds. Anywhere you turn you see banners screaming out "Sale, sale, sale". You receive emails informing you of coupons and discount prices here and there. Tremendous amount of offers just fall on your lap and they can just be so enticing. Afterall, isn't shopping the girls' biggest weakness?

Look: A wonderful giveaway for your skin care from Perricone.

Hell Bunny Purple Net Dress

Hell Bunny Corset Back Lacey Dress

Iron Fist Love Hurts Purple Leopard Shoes

Above are the dresses that I would love to slide myself in for some up-coming parties. They are so gorgeous. What product can be better than these with their prices? Very affordable? Boy! Look at those metallic purple shoes from Iron Fist with green Leopard spots, aren't they fierce? If you observe, they would actually match any of the dress.

And again, sale, sale, sale. What a wonderful block Friday and cyber Monday. I can save a lot from my salary because even if I shop, I get the products at very low prices.

Aha! Wait a minute. Did I just hear the word "save"? Isn't shopping for the name of "sale" still means spending? And isn't buying more products that are on sale still means more spending?

From my little background on sale and marketing, I know some tricks about sale. Take this as an example. The shop owner knows that thanks giving and christmas are coming. More people would have time and money to go out to shop because of vacations and 13th month pay. One or few months before thanks giving and christmas the shop owner would increase the prices of his goods by maybe 18%. Then comes the block Friday and cyber Monday. The shop owner dramatically declares sale on all products by 20%. Well, that's just a little picture.

So what do I suggest? Be smart and creative in shopping. There are tons of sale out there this season. Look carefully for the things that you need and would need often. Dresses or shoes that can be worn only for one or two ocassions are not a good idea. Even if you got them on sale, they would sit inside the closet for most of the time. Look for shoes, dresses, or jeans that would go along with what you already have in your closet, specifically, with the shade color that you mostly have. Also, don't be afraid to cross-match. That is, if you find a great dress at one shop with a very reasonable price, and then there's a pair of shoes that you would so fancy because they match perfectly with the dress but the price is a bit high, you might buy only the dress and check from other shops first if you can also get as fancy shoes but with lower price. However, not all cheaper products make a good choice. Sometimes, you can avail products at lower prices but their quality is not very satisfying. They may not last as long as a good quality product would.

If you are smart in your shopping, then you can truly take advantage of this season's discounts and bonuses.

Did you find my dresses and shoes picks stunning? You can check them at kate's clothing. They have more choices available for you. Just enter the code NEWS2611 at the checkout before December 3rd to avail 10%off discount.

Just remember, be smart.

Thank you all for supporting Ruche and for all the lovely comments and feedback that will help Ruche grow and grow.

Street Fashion: My Outfit

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ~ Coco Chanel

“"Style" is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style.” ~ John Fairchild

I'm so excited for tomorrow, it's gonna be payday. Actually, it's gonna be tonight, at midnight. But mind you, I'm not excited because I'll be off shopping; instead, I'm excited to see how much would go to my savings account. Right now, I'm imagining of having bulks of money, no longer bulks of shoes, or bulks of clothes. Thanks to the recession and to a very stressful job, it made me rethink my shopping spree.

Belt tightening makes me more creative and more experimental with my outfit. That also means more of reusing.

At the end, when you focus on expressing yourself coupling it with charisma, that is what John F calls "style".

Have you joined our Perricone giveaway girls? If not, then don't miss it. Its quite easy and fun.

Michelle Obama goes more styling for State Dinner, a shift from her high-fashion style?

"I'm not going to pretend that I don't care about it. But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear -- people just have different tastes." ~ Michelle Obama by Vogue

Girls, if you are from the US, do take a moment to join our Perricone giveaway of Cold Plasma ($150 in value). It is fun and easy.

AP Photo

I have been reading a lot of media attention and critiques about Michelle Obama's fashion. So much of opinion were said out there that processing them, as well as following what Michelle wears, made me conclude that she is, indeed, a glamourista. She knows what she likes. She knows how to dress up. She's stylish. She's not scared of experimenting with her outfits. She's tall. She does not care what people think. And the best that I like is that she is practical with her fashion.

I've read that she patronizes products that are less famous and that she wears the clothes of less popular designers such as Jason Wu [being her favorite]. Perhaps, this is to deviate the attention of the world's fashionistas from only the top big designers.

Very recently, Michelle once again stirred the buzz when she wore this very glamorous strapless dress by an Indian-American designer Naeem Khan for a state dinner to welcome Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Mrs. Gursharan Kaur to the White House. She looked very elegant in this dress with a classic floor-length cut in a subdued gold fabric paired with a light shawl.

"The entire ensemble seemed traditionally feminine and sophisticated, reminiscent of the first lady's more conservative predecessors." Jennifer Romolini said in an article for the Shine.

As you can see, there is nothing really new or extraordinary with this dress. Except maybe that the color suited her well blending with her skin color and the way she gave justice to this dress was superb. So what exactly stirred the buzz? Well, it is that obvious shift of her from her usual high-fashion risk taking style that caused all these attention.

Perricone Giveaway: Avail fierce skin care products through a Perricone Coupon

Hello girls! For the first time, Creative Fashion is hosting a giveaway for its lovely readers. Yes, you heard it right. A giveaway.

The lucky winner for this easy and fun competition will receive a Cold Plasma ($150 Value) skincare product from PerriconeMD.

What is Cold Plasma?

"Cold Plasma is a universal skin care product; suited for anyone, no matter how old your skin is, what your skin type is, or whether you’re male or female.

Cold Plasma works through a patented ionic (i.e. charged particles) suspension carrier system which allows for your skin to extract from Cold Plasma’s formula according to your individual, unique needs. This personalized system, called biochemical individuality, is a self-selection process charged by phospholipids, major cell membrane components. Phospholipids are fat derivatives which help lock in moisture, because phosopholipid bilayers have hydrophilic (attracted to water) heads facing outward and hydrophobic (mix poorly with water) tails facing inward toward each other. The phospholipids in this formula help direct needed nutrients where they can be effectively used through the cell membrane. This means, if any of the ingredients aren’t needed, they just won’t be utilized." ~ Blog PerriconeMd

So, how to join?

It's simple. First, you have to join my follower list. Second, you have to leave a comment for this post citing your interest to join the competition and sharing your skin care secrets, or, if you have ever tried any PerriconeMD product, your experience with it. Even readers without websites are welcome. Don't forget to include your email address for contact.

Easy, right?

The lucky winner will be selected randomly.

The competition starts today upon its posting and will end on the 9th December 2009, that's Wednesday, at 12 midnight PST.

Girls, I know that this competition is something to celebrate, however, only those that are in the US can win this product. Yeah, I know, what about those international readers/bloggers? Don't worry, very few months from now this blog will celebrate its first anniversary. By then, I certainly would have something special that would be open to everyone.

And yet, there's still good news. Even if you don't live in the US, you can still avail a Cold Plasma or other Perricone products through a Perricone coupon. You would get 25% off for everything and anything using the code given. Just follow the links and you would know what I'm talking about.

Good luck.

Fashion Don't! J.Lo's unnecessary

I am an avid fan of this Puerto Rican actress/singer/fashion designer named Jennifer Lopez and I always admire her style. However, in this outfit, she seemed to undermine the principle "less is more". That dress is terrific and that would make a statement even without those black boots. Therefore, I do think that the boots aren't necessary. They, matched with the dress, made her look stout and short.

Should a young woman not wear dark leopard print dress?

"I was told that a young woman shouldn't wear a dark leopard print dress. That would make her look like an old matron. Great! That is something worth disproving. " ~ Gleenn of Creative Fashion

A stolen shot sometimes is adorable; when a natural, bright smile is captured even for a not perfect smile.

So, should a young woman not wear a dark leopard print dress?

I'd say why not? But it's important to balance the color with either a light shawl/scarf or a cardigan.

Photos by nice A

Celebrity outfit: can you guess who's wearing this?

Look: Who's wearing bedazzled Miu Miu knee-high socks?

Clue: Her sweetheart is someone who can't seem to pose without opening his mouth.

Opinion: I think that there are just too much sparkly in this outfit, too much statement, which includes the hair. Does this celebrity really think she's doing an editorial fashion? If I were to wear these on the streets, I'd take the jacket and the socks separately. I would both take the jacket off and replace it with same length black jacket to give emphasis on the socks or I would take off both the shoes and socks and replace them with either black or dark brown knee-high boots to give emphasis on the jacket.

Look: who's wearing these sickness-inducing patterned pants?

Clue: she's a former "Hills" hottie who landed a gig in the fashion industry.

Opinion: I don't have anything against the pants and the shoes, in fact, i love them. But it's that gray sweater that destroyed the outfit. If I were her, I'd replace the top with a long empire cut or body hugging black top just enough to cover the crouch area. A black top would transform this combi into an elegant one.
