It comes to a girl sometimes, feeling tickled pink. Here are some pink stuff and quotes I think are interesting.

Should you play bingo for fashion?

Yes, the Sex and the City is dead. But no, it wasn’t the press who killed it. The somewhat akin to Elvis Presley, this almost legendary franchise series is actually killed not by no brainer fashionistas but by stay-on-their-guts stylish recessionistas who saw the thickening of the wardrobes of these New York besties entirely unaffordable. But did you know? That many of these same recessionistas who killed the SATC are actually turning to online bingo as a way to support their fashion needs? How true?

According to reports, it’s the women who already got a hold of their fashion sense that get involved in bingo fashion – those middle aged or older women. They play for fun, sure, but they also take chance to earn more for quick, easy funds and thereby shop for their fashion essentials. All these are thanks to an easy access to the internet. They shop online. At the same time, they play bingo online.

Aside from fashion reasons, a lot of people participate in betting or gambling because of more serious objectives: to win and become instant rich. However, while there are stories of overwhelming wins, the odds of winning are actually very and extremely less. But why is it, that despite this known fact the number of people who play bingo and other forms of betting is still enormous? Clearly, we cannot rule out the fact that human loves to take chance in whatever ways possible for either money or fashion.

On a lighter note, it is sweet to know that some celebrities play bingo for a more valuable cause – for charity. If they are not at work or if they are not shopping, they fashionably play bingo anyway, so why not use the proceeds to support the foundations that protect and respect animal rights? British pop star Robbie Williams, for example, is one of a host of celebrities involved with Legendary Bingo, a weekly fundraising event held in Los Angeles to help the Voice for the Animals Foundation. Would such an act justify the nature of gambling? Process that question on you, girls, but take note, celebrities must have lots of money to bet.

While it is fashionable and fun to play online bingo, still, I have not and I don’t plan to try it out. There were two instances when I saw figures clearly in my dreams and woke up sweating. I thought of stories I heard in the past that the numbers that win the betting are usually those seen in dreams. But I was not even moved to go out and play the game. I prefer to save my money.

Creative Fashion opens heart ... How I got hooked in fashion blogging

One day I stumbled upon blogger and the thought of putting up a fashion blog came up. I never knew about blogging before. All I had were profiles at Helium, Associated Content and Ezine where I published my articles, short stories and poetry. Blogger made things easy for a complete newbie. The name Creative Fashion quickly came into picture. I never had moments when I had to think and rethink about the name for my blog; it simply was given. I created an account, searched for some free layouts and published my first fashion blog ever. How fast time flies? It's already one year and a half ago, and here I am, still blogging.

I was completely at loss when I was starting. Oftentimes I didn't know what to do. I visited other fashion blogs and when I saw their huge following and community of people commenting, I felt like engulfed by this overwhelming sea of fashion bloggers. I felt so tiny. I felt so insecure. "What am I doing here? Who am I to blog about fashion?" were the usual thoughts that haunted me.

Then I met a virtual friend who was blogging almost full-time by the time, but hers were personal blogs. When I met her, I already had abandoned Creative Fashion. I had stopped blogging for some time. She encouraged me to put up a personal blog where I can collectively publish my creative writings. I was convinced that a literary or personal blog would be more productive for me. Therefore I set up my personal blog A peek into my life and my thoughts ... and spent all my free time developing my blog and connecting with other non-fashion bloggers. I found that the other side of blogosphere was much more welcoming. I connected easily with a lot of bloggers and in a short time, my personal blog earned a pr 3.

After several months of religiously tending my personal blog, it reached a plateau. I was spending so much hours for it but it wasn't earning any revenue. It was then that I reconsidered my fashion blog. Immediately, Creative Fashion was revived. I challenged myself to learn every facets of fashion blogging. I made it a goal to increase my pagerank into 4. Then I read an article that says, you cannot succeed in blogging by being an island. You gotta go out and join the sea. Thus I started visiting and commenting on other blogs. I was slowly and painfully earning friends. But it was fulfilling. The hardest part that I faced was getting other bloggers exchange links with my blog. I felt that some bloggers who has got higher page ranks were snob when it comes to exchanging links. I felt upset at first but eventually learned to let it pass. Later, I realized that there are also plenty of wonderful bloggers out there that are willing to be friends and exchange links.  I wasn't posting a lot of My Outfit posts and my contents were not very striking. I then focused on improving my contents. I set goals after goals and before I knew it, I was hooked. I documented my learning as a list of tips on How to increase pagerank in the shortest possible time .

For how many times I was tempted to quit. But I'm thankful for the goals that I challenged myself to reach, they made me keep working on. This blog is bringing in some bucks but not that much to compensate the number of hours that I spend maintaining it. However, my blogs served as training grounds. I learned so many things about web publishing. I became exposed to so many opportunities. And because of this experience, new projects came to me that are just waiting for the perfect time to get launched. I'm extremely excited for 2011.

As I reflect upon these things tonight, I thought that perhaps it's about time to turn the limelight from myself unto my readers. This is the first time that I am doing this and I can't help but scold myself for waiting too long.

It's been a while since I posted some personal photos in this blog; but a little while back, I and my friends visited a zoo here in Bangkok and it was a great experience. It's always amazing to see some lovely creatures that we don't come across on a daily basis. Thus, let me share with you the beauty of creation that my lens happened to capture.

Should a budget fashionista get this dress or not?

If you are a budget fashionista, you probably must have found yourself in situations where you are in need of new sets of outfits but that when you shop, you are reluctant to spend your money. You searched for clothes that are entirely worth your hard earned money or perhaps you cleverly hunt for bargains and clearance sales. Unlike some extravagant fashionistas who behave like nouveaux rich, you don't feel ashamed but instead glory for fashion stuff you grabbed from clearance racks.

If you are a budget fashionista who wants to buy new clothes while at the same time save some money, you might want to check Tory Burch online boutique. They have everything that you'd need from apparels to accessories  and beauty products all at affordable prices. They also have discounted items that you can check at their SALE page whenever you visit their site.

On another note, I found this dress kind'a must-have weeekend-pick-me-up. I love it's vibrant color and its pretty leafy patterns in black. It looks comfy to wear while its cut around the neck and its sleeves are perfect for girly look. You can wear this dress with a black fitting trousers and black pointed close shoes for work, wear it with black tights and black knee-high boots for winter completed with a vibrant hue scarf, or you can dress it down with a pair of gladiators or some edgy yellow shoes. This dress is definitely a statement.

Looking at the price of this Tory Burch Harriet tribal-print silk-satin dress, my claims were affirmed. A good $425 is indeed a statement!

Now tell me girls, would you buy this dress the moment you see it or would you wait until it goes on sale? The good side of buying it right away is that you're sure to get a dress your size. The down side of waiting for it to go on sale in spite of saving some money is that your size might run out of stock.

Fashion Don't! Katie Holmes Fashion Faux Pas?

There's this video of Hollywood's Most Well-Dressed Mom-Kid duos by Shine featuring the top five most fashionable moms and their stylish kids. Guess what? Katie Holmes topped the list along with her daughter, Suri. I've no question about that. Katie undeniably wears cute outfits and Suri evidently knows how to style in spite of being only four years old.

However, there is something that troubles me tonight. It's this troubling outfit that I spotted on her -- consisting of a bold button-down, baggy boy jeans, and granny shoes -- while she was in and about LA.

Tell me girls. Are you as troubled as me upon seeing this outfit? Should we add this to our Fashion Don't! list?

Try Japanese Fashion, try printed cardigans

I noticed that Japanese Fashion is becoming influential in some ways. I have seen some fashion bloggers posting photos of themselves modeling their copied Japanese look. Some of them may not entirely match the expression of their Japanese counterparts, however, their attempts of adapting Japanese fashion actually result into playful girly looks.

I can spot Japanese fashions even in the streets. They speak of colors, lively and bright that are matched together. There's nothing mundane in this type of fashion. It's all about daring to wear more than three bold colors in an outfit. More colors is the ultimate principle.

One shop that I found recently where you can easily purchase Japanese fashion is the Tokyo Fashion Online Shop founded by Mayuki Zhou in 2005. They specializes in all different Japanese styles that as they put it, "are making international headlines!"

My heart for street fashion is leveled up!

Stolen shots of stylish girls from the streets always fascinate me. Street fashion inspires me more than the runway fashion. This is because of my belief that it is in the street where fashion is being interpreted and defined by real people. Of course we cannot deny that many of the street fashions are obviously inspired by the runway; however, not everything that models wear makes it in the streets.

Which fashion do you think influences more? the runway or the streets?

My love of street fashion is strengthened by the gift that I received very recently from my fiancé, a Nikon D5000 camera. My man knew that I need a powerful camera to be able to capture street fashions. The camera is a baby; it levels up my heart for street fashion.

A neophyte for street fashion photography, I ventured out for my first attempt of capturing inspiring photos of fashionistas in the street.

I still have to learn a lot about my Nikon, but it won’t take long. Some lovely fashions from the streets are coming soon. Yippee!

Strategic Shopping for Stylish but Affordable Apparels at Zepherra

One strategy that I found effective in styling is creative combination. By that, I don’t refer to only creative ways of mix matching or style hunting but I refer to strategic ways of combining designers, high street or lookalikes in an outfit. This way of styling has served me best since I started to fall in love with fashion during my university days.

If my shoes are designers, people would certainly notice them. Therefore, I pick a dress that is not a designer but simply is a look alike. The dress can be easily understood as designers too. To complete the outfit, I would take a purse that is a highstreet product and then walk like everything on me is designers.


However, this strategy would effectively work if you are resourceful. You have to be able to identify products that are affordable but are great lookalikes of designer products. This area requires good taste and keen eyes but is practically helpful given the economy.



Zepherra is a shop that sells lovely dresses and apparels that I consider great lookalikes. Their products are creatively crafted and are fashionably designers inspired. What is more hilarious about this shop is that their products’ prize usually ranges $10 to $30. It is not difficult to identify apparels that would suit your need for lookalikes because what their shop offers are not only very affordable, they are also very stylish.

Inject culture into your summer fashion wear

Indian Kurta, Mexican stripes, Batik print, Bohemian dress and a sunset cocktail in the Sahara, they’re entirely fabulous. I wonder if this thought occurred to Carie Bradshaw before they - Carie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda - flew to the United Arab Emirates to shoot the very controversial “Sex and the City 2”. Instead of dressing up like dolls which arguably belong in the playroom, some culture inspired summer fashion wear would also be perfect either for Sahara or Morocco.

Through my lovely style feeder, I woke up this morning with a very good question: why not inject culture into your summer fashion wear? Indeed, why not?
